A Weekend in the Midwest - St. Louis

10:11 AM

Last Thursday, Drew & I set out with Kolby & Max and headed to St. Louis for the weekend. As we were driving it hit me that this would be our first time returning to the Midwest together since our wedding (which was a year and a half ago). We were excited to see some family but the main reason we were in town was to see our sweet friend from college say "I Do".

As soon as we got into town we checked out a local brewery called Urban Chestnut Brewing at The Grove. With cooler temps in tow I couldn't wait to get my hands on a dark beer. We got the Brezen Board and the Bratwurst Board to eat and they were both delicious. If you're ever in St. Louis definitely check this place out!

After we finished up there my mom and stepdad had made it to the hotel so we headed back there to see them. We hadn't seen them since May and we're so excited they had come over for the night. I was so excited that she brought us our favorite Joe's pizza. We haven't had it since our rehearsal dinner and needless to say we were in Heaven and so thankful.

Saturday we ventured off to IKEA, fell in love with so many things and made a mental list of what we want to come back and get when we're back home for the holidays. I would be in trouble if I had an IKEA in my own city, I love that place. After a quick lunch we said goodbye to my parents so we could get ready and head to the wedding.

The wedding took place at the American Kennel Club Museum of the Dog and it sat among beautiful rolling hills and trees + it was a place dedicated to dogs, my favorite!

We LOVED catching up with our sweet friends from college. It's crazy to think that we're all in the point in our lives we are getting married, talking about babies & only get to see each other when someone gets married!

Sunday came too quickly and we were back on the road for the 9.5 hour drive back to Louisiana. It was the perfect weekend seeing family and friends and eating and drinking our way through the weekend.

And for some Monday funnies, this one decided this is where he wanted to ride in the car. Oh my sweet Maxi, you keep like entertaining.
